Enable HTTPS

Select this item to enable HTTPS and then select a connection option:

HTTP & HTTPS

HTTPS only

. Note that you have to create and install a certificate first in the second

section before clicking the

Save

button.

Create and Install Certificate Method

Before using HTTPS for communication with the camera, a certificate must be created.

There are three ways to create and install a certificate:

1. Create Self-signed Certificate Automatically

a. Select this option.
b. Enable HTTPS above and select either

HTTP & HTTPS

HTTPS only

c. Click

Save

to generate a certificate.

d. The certificate information will automatically be displayed in the

buttom section. You can click

Property

to view detailed information

about the certificate.

e. Click

Live Video

to return to the main page. Change the address from

http://

https://

in the address bar and press

Enter

. Some security

alert dialogs will pop up. Click

Yes

to enable HTTPS.

2. Create Self-signed Certificate Manually

a. Click

Create

to open the

Create Certificate

page.

b. Enter the requested information and click

Save

to generate the

certificate.

c. The certificate information will automatically be displayed in the

buttom section. You can click

Property

to view detailed information

about the certificate.

This section explains how to enable authentication and encrypted communication over SSL (Secure Socket Layer). This helps protect streaming data

transmission over the Internet on higher security level.
