The layer 2 forwarding database commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate
parameters) in the following table.

create fdb
Purpose Used to create a static entry to the unicast MAC address forwarding
table (database)
Syntax
create fdb <vlan_name 32> <macaddr> port <port>
Description This command will make an entry into the switch’s unicast MAC
address forwarding database.
Parameters
<vlan_name 32>
−
The name of the VLAN on which the MAC
address resides.
<macaddr>
−
The MAC address that will be added to the forwarding
table.
<port>
−
The port number corresponding to the MAC destination
address. The switch will always forward traffic to the specified device
through this port.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To create a unicast MAC FDB entry :
