Pass Through MAC Address List
In addition to permitting specific IP addresses to have “free” network access rights
without authenticating, the DSA-3200 also provides the ability to do so according to a
MAC address. This system permits at most 100 Privileged MAC addresses to have
network access rights without going through user authentication. The format of the
MAC address is
XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
. These settings will be effective immediately
after you click
“Apply”.
Warning: Permitting certain MAC addresses to have network access rights without
going through the standard authentication process may pose a security risk.
Note: To allow PCs the ability to access WAN resources through the Public Interface
without authenticating when User Authentication is enabled, specify the IP address for
statically configured PCs or the MAC address for DHCP clients. IP and MAC
authentication are separate, only one or the other is required to authenticate.
