Cleaning a Chromaflow Packing Station and a connected
column
Introduction
This section describes procedures and recommendations for cleaning your
Chromaflow Packing Station.
Each Chromaflow Packing Station should be flushed and rinsed carefully and directly
after use to make sure there is no slurry or other resin remaining. Residual resin slurry
can restrict or block flow paths. This results in a pressure increase, or prevents the
pump from starting due to that settled chromatography resin prevents the
membranes from moving inside the pump.
For more information about cleaning the connected column, refer to the user docu-
mentation for your column. If further instructions are needed, contact your local Cytiva
representative.
Precautions
WARNING
For continued protection against injury risks due to fluid jets or
burst pipes, the piping system must be tested for leakage at
maximum pressure when the following situations apply:
•
After assembly or maintenance
•
Before operation or Cleaning-In-Place (CIP)
