ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL
Read all of SAFETY and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.

Remove bolt (22), u-nut (23) and hex nut (21) and remove
the controller cover (12) to access the controller (13) (Ref.
Fig. 3).
Remove the bolts (25) and flat washers (26) (Ref. Fig. 3).
Disconnect the cables and connectors from controller.
Pay particular attention to, and note the location of all
cable, wire, and connector connections so they can be
connected correctly on replacement controller.
Remove bolts (11), washers (10) and lock nuts (14) and
remove the controller (13) from the controller bracket.
Install new controller and reconnect wiring. Tighten hard-
ware to the torque values as specified below:
Reconnect the BL- battery cable.

To prevent electrical shock, the BL- wire must
be removed before discharging the controller
by shorting the B+ and B- terminals of the con-
troller with a large screwdriver. Be sure to hold
screwdriver by the insulated portion.
Note the location of the wiring before disconnecting from
solenoid
Use an insulated wrench to remove the BL- wire from the
battery.
Disconnect wires from solenoid (15) (Ref. Fig. 4). Pay
particular attention to, and note all wire connections so
they can be connected correctly on replacement solenoid.
Remove the nuts (16) and remove the solenoid from the
vehicle (Ref. Fig. 4).
Mount new solenoid (15) and reconnect the wiring.
Tighten hardware to the torque value specified below:
Reconnect the BL- battery cable.
