MOVEMENT: BACK AND
FORTH
Our oral health professionals recommend a simple
vertical back-and-forth movement, without applying
pressure. This has three advantages: It is gentle on your
gumline. It provides particularly good care. It delivers
hydrodynamic as well as mechanical cleaning.
Hydrodynamics: turbulent
The bristles move very quickly, generating turbulence in
the mixture of saliva, water and toothpaste. This turbu-
lence also reaches areas which cannot be reached by the
bristles, thus ensuring that cleaning takes place between
your teeth as well.
Effective: slanted
• Position the brush at a 45-degree angle so it lies half
on the gums, half on the teeth. This is the ideal way to
clean your teeth with the ergonomic hexagonal handle.
• Simply hold the brush loosely without applying
pressure.
• Clean from tooth to tooth: two to three seconds on
each tooth.
• While cleaning, slightly tilt the Hydrosonic «Black Is
White» once or twice to clean the recesses and spaces
between your teeth particularly well.
JAW QUADRANTS:
ALWAYS THE SAME
• After 30 seconds, three short, consecutive pauses of 0.2
seconds each will indicate that it’s time to move to a
different quadrant in your mouth.
• Important: the cleaning process should be repeated for
every jaw quadrant – ideally always in the same order.
This way, you won’t miss out any teeth.
• A long pause indicates that the two minutes have
elapsed.
• After four minutes, the Hydrosonic «Black Is White»
will switch off.
• You can switch the toothbrush off at any time by press-
ing the button.
Chewing surfaces: don’t forget
Children and adolescents in particular must also clean
the chewing surfaces of their teeth due to the often deep
fissures.
Dentist recommendation: ideally longer
Dentists recommend a minimum cleaning duration of two
minutes. Cleaning a little longer promotes oral health.
