HOW TO ANALYZE THE LIPID FILM
1
Adjust the microscope focus on the patient's eye tear film. The
image of the diffused light, projected by the device on the
corneal surface won't be focused.
2
Depending on the thickness and regularity of the lipid layer,
this may appear like any of the following: amorphous
structure, marble appearance, wavy appearance, yellow,
brown, blue or reddish interference fringes.

HOW TO ANALYZE THE INFERIOR TEAR MENISCUS HEIGHT
1
Observe the inferior eyelid border to evaluate the produced
tear liquid volume. Consider the height, regularity and shape.
In case of reflection the evaluation could not be accurate.
2
A standard tear meniscus is convex near the eyelid margin and
concave at the centre. You will observe a black line near the
convex part of the meniscus profil, it is typical of the normal
tear meniscus.
