UNPACKING
Immediately after unpacking, check for possible shipping damage. If the kettle is found to be
damaged, save the packaging material and contact the carrier within 15 days of delivery.
INSTALLATION
1.
The kettle must be installed in accordance with state and/or local codes.
2.
Prepare wall for kettle installation.
3.
Each console is to be supported with three, 3/4 inch diameter bolts, studs or equivalent, to
the supporting structure. Ensure the supporting structure is capable of the load
requirements and meets the local codes and standards. Wall and above mounting
hardware must be capable of carrying three times the weight of the loaded kettle. See
table for approximate loaded kettle weight.
4.
Bolt kettle in place through the installation holes in console to the wall.
5.
Re-check kettle is level, side to side and front to back.
6.
Apply sealant around the console perimeter on the wall. Wipe off excess sealant
immediately.
7.
Connect steam line (3/4" pipe size) to the kettle, making sure there is a steam control valve
strainer fairly convenient to the kettle.
8.
Connect kettle condensate return line to a drain or to a boiler return line. Each kettle return
line must have a suitable steam trap. Boiler return lines must have a check valve.
9.
Safety relief valve on kettle must not be plugged as it is set to relieve excess pressure in
the kettle.
10. If incoming steam pressure is greater than kettle maximum operation pressure then a
pressure reducing valve must be installed in the line.
11. If large amounts of water accumulate in the steam line it will be necessary to install one or
more ball float traps in the line to eliminate the water.
