Keypad Installation

After the Cresnet network wiring has been installed, the CNWM-LU12 is installed
into a standard, 1-gang electrical box. The only tools required are a small flat-tip and
a Phillips tip screwdriver. To install the keypad, perform the following procedure:

NOTE:

The CNWM-LU12 may be installed in any orientation. This procedure

assumes that the keypad will be installed vertically with the two square buttons
toward the bottom.

CAUTION:

The connectors of the Crestron system adapter are offset (not centered)

in the mounting bracket. If the system adapter becomes separated from the button
assembly, first check the button assembly pins for straightness. Position the adapter
so that the mounting bracket holes align with the assembly mounting holes, and

CAREFULLY

push the button assembly and adapter together.

1.

Make sure that the Cresnet system power is turned

OFF

.

CAUTION:

The CNWM-LU12 faceplate is a two-piece assembly and is shipped

with the faceplate installed onto the faceplate frame. To install the keypad, the
faceplate must first be separated from the frame. To avoid damage during the next
step, do not use excessive force when prying the faceplate away from the frame.

2.

Using a small flat-tip screwdriver or your fingers, pry the top or bottom
of the faceplate away from the frame until the retaining tabs disengage.
Tilt the faceplate outward and the tabs on the opposite edge will
release. Separate the faceplate from the frame.

3.

At the electrical box, connect the

GREEN

 ground wire of the keypad

to the ground wire of the electrical box. (If the electrical box is metal
and does not have a ground wire, attach the keypad ground wire to the
electrical box.)

4.

Connect the Cresnet connector to the rear of the keypad system adapter.

5.

Make sure the two square buttons of the keypad are oriented as desired
and position the keypad into the electrical box.

CAUTION:

Excess wire that is pinched between the keypad and electrical box

could short-out. Make sure that all excess wire is completely inside the electrical box
and not between the box and the keypad.

6.

Using the Phillips tip screwdriver and the supplied Phillips screws,
mount the keypad to the electrical box.

7.

Make sure that the two square holes of the faceplate are aligned with
the square buttons. Holding the faceplate at a slight angle, position the
top or bottom of the faceplate onto the faceplate frame. Apply pressure
to the opposite edge of the faceplate until the retaining tabs engage onto
the frame.

8.

Turn Cresnet system power

ON

.
