3. Connect each PTZ camera to the SDI® ports of the Automate VX device using HD-SDI
cables. Ensure the numbered SDI port corresponds to the camera number determined in
step 1.
NOTE: Each PTZ camera should be connected to a network switch via Ethernet and
can be powered via PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) with 30 W power.
4. Connect the NIC 2 port on the camera switching device to the network switch via an
Ethernet cable.
5. Connect the DisplayPort™ computer monitor output to a display (either directly or
through a matrix).
6. To perform initial device setup, either connect the NIC port to a computer for
remote desktop control, our use a mouse and keyboard for direct control. For more

Connect to the System
For initial setup, either connect the NIC 1 port to a computer for Windows® Remote Desktop, or
use a mouse and keyboard for direct control.
To connect directly to the Windows Remote Desktop:
1. Connect to the NIC 1 port of the camera switching device to a computer.

2. Set the following static IP and subnet addresses on your computer:
