31. LINE INPUT:
This is a 1/4" (TRS) balanced line-level, high-impedance (200 k Ohm) input for high and
instrument level signals. The tip is the positive phase and the ring – the negative. An
unbalanced, (instrument), 1/4" (TS) connection can also be made at this input. This connector
duplicates the front panel Line input.
32. INSERT SEND:
This 1/4" TS jack output allows the input microphone or line signals to be sent for processing
to an external device and consequently returned to the main signal path through the Insert
RTN (33).
33. INSERT RTN
This 1/4" TS jack input allows the signal from an external processor to be returned back to
the signal path. Switches in these two jacks normally connect the send output to the return
input until a plug is inserted. The independent Send/Return I/O adds more flexibility and
allows different portions of ST
™
2 channel to be used, patched or bypassed separately.
34. DIRECT OUTPUT
This is a 1/4" (TS) post-Level, post-Mute, pre-Pan unbalanced channel output for shortest
routing of the channel signal to the recording equipment.
35. BUS A OUTPUTS
The summing output A has a 0 dBu/2 k Ohm, 1/4" unbalanced output and +4 dBu/600 Ohm,
XLR balanced output. It mixes the signals from Input One and Two that are panned to bus A
when the Stereo/Mono switch (25) is disengaged. When the Stereo/Mono switch (25) is
engaged, only the Channel-One signal is routed to this output, bypassing the Pan control.
The balanced and unbalanced outputs can be used simultaneously.
36. BUS B OUTPUTS
The summing output B has a 0 dBu/2 k Ohm, 1/4" unbalanced output and +4 dBu/600 Ohm,
XLR balanced output. It mixes the signals from input One and Two that are panned to bus B
when the Stereo/Mono switch (25) is disengaged. When the Stereo/Mono switch (25) is
engaged, only the Channel Two signal is routed to this output, bypassing the Pan control. The
balanced and unbalanced outputs can be used simultaneously.
37. A/B EXTENSION OUTPUTS
The balanced A and B bus outputs (35) and (36) are duplicated with these two +4 dBu, 1/4"
balanced outputs.
38. A/B EXTENSION INPUTS
These +4 dBu/20 k Ohm, 1/4" balanced inputs provide direct access to the A and B buses.
The Extension I/Os provide expandability to the ST2 allowing for two or more units to be
daisy-chained, each becoming a master to the preceding ones.
39. AC POWER INLET:
This receptacle is for the IEC line cord (included), that provides AC power to the unit.
Connect the line cord to this connector and to a properly grounded AC supply. This unit is
supplied with a properly rated line cord. Never remove or cut the ground pin of the line cord
plug. When lost or damaged, replace this cord with one of the proper ratings. Damage to the
equipment may occur if an improper line voltage is used. Please see line voltage marking on
unit.
