21. ST
LED
This bicolor LED is off when the SmarTube
™
circuit is off-line (full CCW position (20) - Off). It
starts blinking in green as the amount of tube-effect increases until it reaches nominal level -
around the center detent position (N) of 20. The color of this LED gradually turns red as the
addition of tube-effect increases and gets closer to maximum (MAX).
22. SIGNAL LED
Lights up green indicating the presence of a signal at the channel input regardless of the
position of Level, Pan or Mute controls. The threshold is –22 dBu.
23. MUTE
SWITCH
This switch mutes all channel outputs. The Signal LED (22) is not affected.
24. MUTE
LED
Lights up in red when the Mute switch is depressed.
25. MONO
SWITCH
Assigns the channel signal to either, A/B stereo bus or only A (Channel One) or B (Channel
Two) bus. In Stereo position (disengaged) the Channel One signal is panned between A and
B bus. In Mono position (engaged) the Channel One signal is routed only to A bus, bypassing
the Pan pot. Likewise, in Stereo position the Channel Two signal is panned between A and B
bus. In Mono position the Channel Two signal is sent only to B bus, bypassing the Pan pot.
26. SIZZLE
SWITCH
When pressed this switch introduces a slight (3-4 dB) broadband boost within the high
frequency range for additional signal crispiness and brightness.
27. METER
A 10-segment, multiple color LED bar-graph array reads the direct channel output, (post-
Level, pre-Pan). The 0 dB reading corresponds to 0 dBu at the unbalanced outputs and
+4 dBu at the balanced outputs. The meter range is from –21 dB to Clip (2 dB before
clipping). The colors change gradually from green, through a blend of yellows and orange to
red as the signal level increases.
28. POWER
SWITCH
Power is applied to the ST2 when this switch is pressed. It is recommended that the unit be
turned off while patching or applying power to external equipment when used in conjunction
with the ST2.
29. POWER
LED
Located on the right front panel, this LED will illuminate when power is applied indicating that
the unit is on.
30. MICROPHONE
INPUT
XLR, low impedance (2.2 k Ohm), balanced microphone input. Pin 2 is the positive and pin 3
– the negative phase. This XLR duplicates the front panel Mic input.
