4.3 Cleaning 

Procedures 

NOTE: The user must follow the requirements of the national 
committee responsible for hygiene and disinfection when 
cleaning ultrasonic cleaner. 

See 

Table 4-2 

for recommended cleaning products. Clean the entire 

ultrasonic cleaner per the following procedures.

Use the following materials to perform the cleaning procedures 
described in this section:

NOTE: When using disinfectants, follow all manufacturer's label 
recommendations. 

At  the  close  of  the  day  allow  the  unit  to  cool  to  room  temperature 
before  proceeding.  Crest  recommends  the  painted  and  stainless- 
steel surfaces of Ultrasonic Cleaning System be cleaned with a mild 
detergent solution such as Spray Cleaner and one quart water or a 
mild window-cleaning solution, as follows: 

NOTE: Do not use any oxidizing products with chloric derivative 
base such as bleach, or oxygenic derivatives such as peracetic acid.

Ensure Ultrasonic Cleaning System power is OFF. 

Open lid(s). 

Apply cleaning solution with damp cloth to cabinet surfaces and 
chamber interior(s), rubbing in back-and-forth motion (parallel to 
surface grain on stainless steel). 

NOTE: Avoid getting water into the controls. Wring out cloth 
before wiping the control panel. 

Rinse cloth and wipe off any detergent residue, then dry 
surfaces with clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

NOTE: Crest recommends an occasional application of Pry 
Stain Remover Cream (which is mildly acidic) to stainless-steel 
surfaces. However, it contains a very fine abrasive and should 
NOT be used on painted surfaces.

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE: Use 
nonabrasive cleaners when 
cleaning the unit. Follow 
directions on the container 
and rub in a back-and-forth 
motion (in the same direction 
as the surface grain). 
Abrasive cleaners will damage 
stainless steel and aluminum. 
Cleaner rubbed in a circular 
motion or applied with a wire 
brush or steel wool can be 
harmful to stainless steel and 
aluminum. Do not use 
abrasive cleaners on painted 
surfaces.
