12. Turn the knob until the tool card
completely exits the black rollers and is
approximately 0.8” (2 cm) from the device.
See Figure 12.
13. Place the device on the edge of the table
and turn it so that the cutting lever is facing
you and on the right side of the cutting
track, flush against the device. See Figure
13.
14. Grasp the tool card and the sticker paper
coming out of the device with your left
hand and pull them gently downward, so
that they will be taut and slightly lower
than the machine. See Figure 14.
15. While holding the card and sticker paper
taut in your left hand, press down on the
upper cover of the machine with the fingers
of your right hand, in order to steady and
immobilize the device. While pressing down
with your fingers, use your thumb to slide
the cutting lever from right to left along the
cutting track. This action will cut the paper
and film and release the tool card. See
Figure 15.
16. Remove the film and sticker paper end from
the tool card and discard these ends. The
tool card will be used later on in the process
to “smooth” the finished stickers. Return the
cutting lever to the right end of the cutting
track.
17. Your sticker machine is ready for use and
you can begin making COOL stickers!
Creating Stickers
1. From the illustration sheet, select a picture
you wish to use. You can cut it out with the
scissors or use the stencil board to draw an
outline and then cut it out. See Figures 16a
& 16b.
2. You can add your choice of inscription. See
Figure 17.
Note: Once you make the sticker and coat it
with film, you will not be able to write on it.
3. Place the sticker-making machine in front of
you, so that the lower cover is on the right
and the upper cover is on the left (if you are
left-handed, turn it in the opposite
direction). Place the illustration you cut out,
face up on the sticker paper in the device,
as close to the slot between the black
rollers as possible. See Figure 18. It is
recommended that you leave 0.8” (2cm)
space between illustrations.
4. Turn the green knob counter clockwise until
the stickers pass through the black rollers
and have completely exited the machine.
See Figure 19. Please note that prior to
cutting the stickers, the cutting lever should
always be all the way at the right end of the
cutting track. If not, the stickers may not be
cut correctly and may cause the paper to
jam inside the device.
5. Place the device on the edge of the table
and turn it so that the cutting lever is facing
you and on the right side of the cutting
track, flush against the device.
6. Grasp the sticker you created with your left
hand and gently pull it downwards until it is
taut. See Figure 20.
7. Press down on the upper cover of the
machine with the fingers of your right hand,
in order to steady and immobilize the
device. While pressing down with your
fingers, use your thumb to slide the cutting
lever from right to left along the cutting
track. This action will release the sticker you
made. See Figure 21.
8. Use the scissors to carefully cut out the
illustration on the sticker, leaving a thin
margin 0.2” (5mm) around the whole
illustration. See Figure 22.
9. Use the tool card to smooth the clear film,
so that it will adhere uniformly to the sticker
paper. See Figure 23.
10. Your new sticker is ready. Remove the
backing, and stick it wherever you please!
See Figure 24.
Creating “Face” Stickers
1. Select one of the face pictures from the
sheet and cut it out.
2. Using small, sharp scissors (not included),
carefully cut out a hole for the face, as
marked on the face picture. See Figure 25.
3. Look for a photo of yourself or a friend, in
which the face is approximately the same
size as the hole you cut out (and make sure
it is all right to cut the photo…).
4. Cut the face out of the photo, leaving a thin
margin around it, place it under the
illustration in the correct position, and stick
it in place using tape or a blank sticker
made with the machine. See Figure 26.
5. Repeat steps 3-10 from Creating Stickers,
above.
Creating Additional Stickers
You can use the sticker-making machine to
create many more stickers of your own design.
Here are some things you can use to make
stickers:
«
Small pictures that you draw or paint.
«
A few written words.
«
Small images that you cut out from photos
(ones you don’t mind cutting up). For
example, you could make a sticker with an
image of yourself, a friend or a pet…
Fragments cut out from newspapers and
colorful magazines and many more
possibilities… See Figure 27.
