WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical
Craftsman replacement parts. Use of any other part
may create a hazard or cause product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear safety goggles or safety
glasses with side shields when using compressed air
to clean tools. If the operation is dusty, also wear a
dust mask.

To avoid serious personal injury, always
remove the battery pack from the tool when cleaning

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids,
gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating
oils, etc. come in contact with plastic parts. Chemi-
cals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which
may result in serious personal injury.
Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be
repaired or replaced by the customer. All other parts
should be replaced at a Sears Service Center.

THE DUST BAG
See Figure 14.
After using the planer for an extended period of time or
when planing wet or green lumber, chips may build up
in the chip exhaust. Chip build-up restricts air flow and
causes the motor to overheat. Clean the chip exhaust port
and empty the dust bag regularly.
n
Remove the battery pack from the tool.
n
Remove the dust bag from the chip exhaust.
n
Clean the build-up from the chip exhaust port with a
small piece of wood. Do not use your hands or fingers.
n
Unzip the dust bag.
