2.4 What to do if an accident occurs
Even when all the safety warnings have been observed, using the battery can still lead to dangerous
situations, such as the battery bursting into flames.
• Protect yourself and others if an accident occurs with the battery.
• Read these instructions completely and carefully so that you will be prepared in the event of
an accident.
2.4.1 Preventative measures
If the battery is damaged or there is a malfunction:
• Do not use the battery.
• Store the battery in a fireproof container or on the ground.
• Remove inflammable materials from the vicinity of the storage area.
• Only touch the battery while wearing protective gloves.
• Put sufficient distance between yourself and the battery so that you do not inhale any vapors
or gases being emitted and so that no liquids being emitted come into contact with your skin.
2.4.2 If there is an increase in temperature
If the battery gets very warm or hot:
• If possible, have your bicycle retailer inspect the battery.
• Store the battery in a fireproof container or on the ground.
• Seal off a wide area around the location of the battery.
