If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume on
the amplifier is not set too high and the mixer is correctly adjust-
ed, the mixer must be switched off immediately and the connec-
tion checked. If there is no error at the connection, please contact
a specialist.
21. You can now try out the individual features of the mixer.
Switching off:
1.
To switch off the mixer, turn down the volume first of all at the amplifier to a min-
imum.
2.
Switch off the amplifier.
3.
Then switch off the mixer using the mains switch POWER (19) and the play-back
devices (record-player, CD player etc.).
4.
If you do not require the mixer for a longer period, pull the mains plug out of the
socket .
Non-observance of this order could damage the loudspeakers or
the amplifier.
Listening in - pre-listening:
Before you connect the headphones or put them on, always turn
the volume of the headphones down to a minimum (control CUE
LEVEL (14) to position "MIN”). Only increase the volume after you
have put on the headphones to a degree which is pleasant for you.
• Put the headphones into the headphone socket PHONES (13) on the mixer.
• Using the slide control PFL/OUTPUT (15), you can determine whether you can
hear the output signal or the input signal of the individual channels of the mixer on
the headphones.
• Slide control PFL/OUTPUT (15) in position "PFL” means that the output signal
(MASTER signal) is played back through the headphones.
• Slide control PFL/OUTPUT (15) in position "OUTPUT” means that the input signal
of the channel(s) which was/were activated using the switches PFL (2) is played
back on the headphones. In this position, so-called pre-listening is possible. That
means, you can hear the input signal without it being played back on the connect-
ed amplifier. This enables you, for example, to find the correct starting point when
cross-fading/mixing.

• Do not place open sources of fire such as burning candles on the device.
• Use the device only in a moderate climate, not in a tropical climate.
• Should you not be clear about correct connection or if questions arise which can-
not be clarified from the operating instructions, please contact our technical infor-
mation or another specialist. Contact a specialist if you have any doubts about
manner of working or the safety of the product.
Connecting and operating elements
See illustration on the fold-out page
(1)
Connection - DJ MIC
Connection socket for the DJ microphone.
Microphones with stereo or XLR plugs can be connected.
(2)
Switch - PFL
With these five switches you can select the channel which is to be heard on the
headphones. The LED in the switch will light up for the channel activated.
(3)
Channel fader
The volume of the channels 1-5 can be controlled with these channel controls.
Position "0” = minimum level
Position "10” = maximum level
(4)
Switch - TALK ON/OFF
With this switch, the signal level of all outputs with the exception of the microphone
channel and the channel 1 (CH-1) can be reduced during the microphone announce-
ment.
The LED built into the switch lights up when the "talk-over feature" is switched on.
The signal level of the inputs is reduced by the value set on the control, TALK OVER,
as soon as DJ microphone is used
(5)
Control - TALK OVER
With this control, you can set damping for the "talk-over feature”.
Position "0” = no damping
Position "14” = maximum damping
(6)
Switch - ASSIGN
Using these two rotary switches, the channels which are to be influenced by the cross
fader (9) are selected.
Using the left switch, you can set the channel which is to be played when the cross fad-
er (9) is located in the left-hand position. Using the right switch, the channel is selected
which is to be played when the cross fader (9) is located in the right-hand position .
