21. Handling
Operation is only permitted in dry indoor environments.
Place the device on an even, solid and sufficiently large surface. Do not place it on expensive furniture as
chemical reaction of the rubber bases may cause discolouration or pressure marks.
Avoid the following unfavourable ambient conditions at the mounting location or during transport:
- direct insolation
- moisture or excessive air humidity
- extremely cold or hot temperatures
- dust or combustible gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields as exist in the vicinity of machines or speakers.
Never turn the digital drum on immediately after it was brought from a cold into a warm room. Condensati-
on water that forms may destroy the product under unfavourable conditions.
Leave the digital drum switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature. This may take
several hours.
Make sure not to damage or destroy the insulation of the entire product.
When opening covers and/or removing components (e.g. housing cover) you could expose live
parts. Terminals, too, may be energised. Before connecting the digital drum performing main-
tenance work or repairs or replacing components or modules, the product must be disconnec-
ted from the mains supply and all other connections. Maintenance work or repairs of the pro-
duct may only be performed by a QUALIFIED professional who is familiar with the hazards
involved and the relevant regulations (VDE-0100, VDE-0683, VDE-0701).
Each time before you use the digital drum check it for damages!
If you note any damages, you must NOT connect the product to the mains supply via the
external power pack!
If you are not using the digital drum for a prolonged period of time, disconnect it from the power pack and
unplug the power pack.
Remove the batteries inside the digital drum.
Do not stick pointed objects (e.g. pens, pins, needles, paper clips etc.) in the ventilation
slits and openings of the device or you may suffer a fatal electric shock and destroy the
device!
When setting up the digital drum make sure that none of the connecting cables is bent or jammed.
