The “CARD” arrow indicated in the figure is the SD card slot label.
If no SD card is inserted, if the SD card is defective or only suitable
for reading data, the “Play” (8), “Menu/Lock” (9), “Rec” (10) LEDs will
flash.
Only FAT16/32 data carriers are supported.
7. Connection and Operation

Always observe the operating instructions of the devices that are to
be used with the product (e.g. surveillance camera, screen, etc.).
• Insert 2 x 1.5V AA batteries into the battery compartment (3) with the correct
polarity.
• Connect the included adapter cables (3.5 mm plug to 2 x cinch) to the “AV IN”
(11) and “AV OUT” (12) connections.
• Connect the yellow cinch plug of the adapter cable connected to “AV IN” (11) to
the video output (75 Ohm, 1 Vss) of a surveillance camera.
• Connect the white cinch plug of the adapter cable connected to “AV IN” (11) to an
audio output (e.g. of a camera).
• Connect the yellow cinch plug of the adapter cable connected to “AV OUT” (12)
to the video output (75 Ohm, 1 Vss) of your display unit (e.g. screen).
• Connect the white cinch plug of the adapter cable connected to “AV OUT” (12) to
an audio input (e.g. your screen’s audio input).
• Insert an SD card (for max. storage capacity, see “Technical Data”; do not use
any memory cards below 256 MB) into the “SD card slot”.
• Switch the “BATT/DC” (13) switch into the BATT position if the digital recorder is
to be operated with batteries only. Switch it to the DC position of the digital recor-
der is operated with the power unit.

Of course, operation with a power unit is also possible if batteries are
inserted. In this case, switch the “BATT/DC” switch (13) to DC.
