1. Introduction
This manual is the ultimate reference for users of the AutoTracer NAS product line. The manual has been designed keeping the user
in mind. Users seek information based on tasks that they need to perform or problems that they need to resolve. The layout of this
manual helps users locate the information they need quickly.
It is assumed that the reader has some basic computer skills. The reader should be familiar with the basic concepts of a windows
environment. Basic interactions with a window using a mouse are required.
While reading this or any other document from CONDRE or SENCOR or using the AutoTracer NAS appliance, if you have any
problems, questions, comments or suggestion please send us a message to

Our engineering team will study all comments and suggestions submitted. Your suggestion may be included in a future release of the
software. This is one of the mechanisms used by CONDRE and SENCOR to constantly continue to improve on our product lines.

1.1 Definitions and Acronyms
This section of the document contains a list of terms and their definitions as used within the scope of this document and/or project.
Backup Account
- A backup account is needed in order for the AutoTracer NAS appliance to be able to access folders on
different computers. Please ask your network administrator to create such account following the policies of your network
environment.
FireWire - An interface that may be used to attach the robotics and burner drives between the computer and the stacker within the
appliance.
SQL Server 2000 - The appliance uses a private database to keep track of orders and configuration information. The appliance uses a
run-time library of the popular database engine from Microsoft.
UNC
UNIX
Windows 2000 - One of the operating systems supported by the AutoTracer NAS product line.
Windows XP - One of the operating systems supported by the AutoTracer NAS product line.
1.2 Overview
This manual describes all the operations that a user may perform on the AutoTracer NAS product.
AutoTracer NAS may be used to generate CD / DVD volumes manually or automatically using a schedule. AutoTracer NAS may
also be used to import the contents of one (1) or more CD/DVD volumes. AutoTracer NAS is great for automated archive and
backup tasks. AutoTracer NAS may be used on a Windows or UNIX network.
In order to log on to the embedded computer in the AutoTracer NAS system the following parameters must be used:

For security reasons the system administrator may (should) change the default password. If this is the case please record the password
and put it in a safe place.
This document refers in different sections to a “modern web browser”. Although several web browsers have been tested, Internet
Explorer from Microsoft is recommended.
