25 COMPRAG RDX series compressed air refrigerated dryer
The inner cavities of the dryer and condenser should be cleaned once a week.
The condenser (20) situated on the left inside the dryers RDX04-18, on rear side
dryers RDX24-180, should be cleaned by blowdown with compressed air. The stream of
compressed air should be directed in the opposite direction to the usual air flow and the
angle between the air stream and the plane of the condenser must be approximately 90
degrees.
6. Fault handling
Problem. Possible faults. Corrective action.
No indication on the dryer’s
control panel.
No power supply.
Turn on power supply. Check
integrity of power cable. Check
the mains voltage.
There is indication on dryer’s
control panel, but the dryer is
not working.
There’s no current in the mains
power supply.
Check the mains power supply
and rectify the fault.
The dew point indicator is in the
yellow zone.
The system has supercooled.
Adjust the refrigerant bypass
valve.
Low flow rate of compressed air.
The low-pressure relay has
been actuated.
Leakage of refrigerant from the
circuit.
Check. Refill, if necessary.
See point 4.1. It is broken and
needs replacing.
The ambient temperature is
too low.
Raise the ambient temperature.
The pressure at the inlet of com-
pressed air is too low.
If possible, try to increase the
working pressure.
The high-pressure relay has
been actuated.
The condenser fan isn’t working.
Check the electric wiring. Check
the contactor switch. Replace
the fan.
The ambient temperature is
too high.
Ensure appropriate ventilation.
The condenser is dirty. Clean the condenser (see 5.3).
The pressure at the inlet of
compressed air is too high.
If possible, try to lower the
working pressure.
