Connection example of RS-232
The following shows an example of connecting a breakout cable (COGNEX product) with an RS-232 connector (D-sub 9 Pin).
Ex.
Breakout cable (COGNEX product): CCB-PWRIO-**
Precautions
• Cut unused wires or protect them with insulating materials. Be careful not to contact with 24 VDC wires.
• Signal names of the RS-232 connector (D-sub 9 Pin) side

Operating procedure
1.
Connect a breakout cable (COGNEX product) with an RS-232 connector (D-sub 9 Pin).
Connect a breakout cable (COGNEX product) and an RS-232 connector (D-sub 9 Pin) as follows: (2) TxD (white and yellow)
to
 RD (RxD), (3) RxD (brown) to  SD (TxD).
In addition, connect the RS-232 connector as follows:  ER (DTR) to  DR (DSR),  RS (RTS) to  CS (CTS).
2.
Connect a breakout cable (COGNEX product) with a 24 VDC power supply.
Connect the breakout cable (COGNEX product) and terminals as follows: (7) 24 VDC (red) to a positive terminal, (8) GND
(black) to a negative terminal of the 24 VDC power supply.
