Operating instructions
Setting the speed
1. Set the speed using the [ + ] and [ – ]
buttons (6). The display shows 1/1000 of
the actual speed, e.g “18” will be shown
on the display when the actual speed of
rotation is set to 18 000 rpm.
Note:
This power tool has a soft start
feature which increases and decreases
the speed of rotation gradually.
2. Switch the power tool on using the power
switch (8). The speed can then be
adjusted once the power tool is running.
3. Switch the power tool off using
the power switch.
Attaching accessories
Warning:
Turn the power tool off and unplug it before attaching any accessories.
1. Press in the spindle lock button (4) and undo the collet chuck (1).
2. Insert an accessory into the chuck and then tighten the chuck. The collet (2) might
need to be changed depending on the shank diameter of the accessory.
Three collets are supplied: 1.6 mm, 2.4 mm and 3.2 mm.
3. When removing accessories it sometimes helps to push the accessory in a bit
before pulling it out.
Note:
Accessories can be hot just after they have been used;
wait until they have cooled down before removing them.
Different kinds of accessories
• The grinder is usually used with accessories which are permanently attached to
their shanks, but some accessories have a separate mandrel.
• The grinder can be used for a variety of tasks such as sanding, grinding, cutting,
polishing, engraving, deburring and drilling.
• The accessories can be rated for use at different maximum speeds; check which
maximum speed applies to the accessory you use.
