Safety precautions during use
• Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts at all times. Never stand in front of
the discharge chute.
• The snow shovel must not be used for any other purpose than for removing snow.
• Be careful when using on gravel paths, pavement and roads. Be attentive for
possible hazards and nearby traffic. Avoid steep inclines.
• Never direct discharged snow towards public roads or traffic.
• Switch the motor off immediately if the snow shovel strikes a foreign object.
Inspect the snow shovel carefully after such an incident. Do not reuse the snow
shovel until any possible damage has been repaired.
• If the snow shovel begins to vibrate abnormally, switch it off immediately and find
the cause. Vibrations are normally a sign that there is a problem.
• Existing safety features must not be disconnected or made inoperative.
• Never use the snow shovel in the vicinity of fences, cars, windows or inclines.
• Always keep children and pets away from the areas to be cleared of snow.
• Never overload the snow shovel by driving it too fast.
• Be very careful when reversing. Always look behind you for possible obstacles.
• Never direct the discharged snow towards onlookers. Never let anyone stand in
front of the snow shovel.
• Never use the snow shovel in conditions of inadequate visibility or improper
lighting.
• Make sure you are well-balanced and have a firm grip on the handles while using
the snow shovel.
• Never use the snow shovel on the roof.
Specific safety instructions for electric snow throwers
• Read the instruction manual thoroughly. Familiarise yourself with all the controls
and functions of the snow shovel before attempting to use it. It is very important
that you know how to switch the snow shovel on and off and disengage the drive.
• Make sure that the snow shovel is assembled correctly and undamaged and that
all the controls move smoothly and return to their original positions when released.
If any part of the snow shovel is missing or damaged, it must be repaired/replaced
before use.
• Plan ahead and think about where the cleared snow will be ejected in order to
avoid personal injury or property damage caused by flying objects.
• Always remove the battery before clearing snow blockages from on and around
the rotor blade.
Note:
Use a suitable tool such as a plastic or wooden stick – never
your hands.
• Remove the battery from the snow shovel when it is not in use and when it is left
unattended.
• All safety devices and guards must be in place and working properly before
the snow shovel is used.
