GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
!
Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "the machine" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) lawnmower or
battery-operated (cordless) lawnmower.
Work area safety
•
Keep work area clean and well lit
. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
•
Do not operate the machine in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
The machine create sparks which may ignite the
dust or
fumes.
•
Keep children and bystanders away while operating the machine
Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
Operation
•
Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instruction to use the machine. Local
regulation many restrict the age of the operator. When not in use store the machine out of
reach of children.
•
This tool is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities.
•
The operator or user is responsible for the accidents or hazards.
•
Inspect the area where the machine is to be used, remove all stones, sticks, wires, bones and
other foreign objects.
•
Before using always visually check the blade, blade bolts and cutter assembly are not worn or
damaged.
•
Mow only in daylight or in good light.
•
Walk, never run with the lawnmower
•
Ensure the blade is not running when crossing surfaces other than grass.
•
Do not tilt the machine when starting or switching on the motor.
•
Do not put hands or feet near or under the rotating parts.
•
Never pick up the machine when the motor is running.
Electrical safety
•
The machine plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) the machine.
Unmodified plugs
and
matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
•
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
•
Do not expose the machine to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering the machine will
increase the risk of electric shock.
•
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
machine. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged
or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
•
When operating the machine, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
•
If operating the machine in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD with a tripping current of 30mA or less) protected supply.
Use of an
RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
NOTE the term “residual current device (RCD)” may
be replaced by the term “ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI)” .
