i-HB POWER BOARD
i-HB power board gives electrical supply to i-CHD managing
EC fan brushless motor.
i-HB power board has the following technical characteristics:
• Communication between user interface (control) and fan
coil
• Management of on-off valve units
• Installation in Building Management System via modbus
protocol (with Kit RS485 – interface for building manage-
ment system)
• Installation in Master-Slave network with two wires con-
nection
• Addressing dip-switch for multiple installation as well as
plant configuration
• Slots to install additional kit control boards
i-HB power board is inserted on the kit i-HB Power Board.

Kit RS485 – interface for Building Management System
i-CHD could be connected into centralized and supervision
system via modbus protocol (RS485).
Kit RS485 is installed on i-HB Power board. User interface
control (e.g. iK – EK) is not necessary for centralized system.
Kit RS485 works with plug & play logic and it does not
require any configuration parameters.
RS485 Bus connections
To connect and install the RS485 bus, comply with stan-
dard EN50174 on data transmission systems.
Use twisted pair cable with 0.5 mm

wires plus shield
(reference cable Belden model 8762 with PVC sheath, 2
wires plus shield, 20 AWG, rated capacitance between
wires 89 pF, rated capacitance between one wire and
the other wires connected to the shield 161 pF).
Special care must be taken to separate the data trans-
mission circuits from power lines.
The maximum length of the RS485 network connected
directly to the device is 1200 m with a maximum of 32
devices.
The length of the network can be extended and the num-
ber of devices increased for each channel by using suit-
able repeater modules.
ALWAYS install the 120 Ω, 0.25 W resistor between termi-
nals “+” and “-” on the last device in the network.
