Maintenance:
1.
To determine the length of ramp for your application, first you need to determine
the rise. The rise is the vertical measurement between the ground and where the
top of the ramp is going to sit.
2.
A 1:6 slope (9.5 degree) is an acceptable grade for portable ramps used by
occupied chairs and scooters with a qualified assistant. i.e. For a 1ft rise you need
a 6ft ramp, for a 1.5ft rise you will need a 9ft ramp etc.
3.
This ramp is designed to assist persons to travel on a small incline while using a
wheeled walker or wheelchair.
1.
Loading the wheelchair
- Position the wheelchair in the direction of the ramp with the front wheels forward.
Roll or ride the wheelchair slowly and steadily up the ramp, ensuring that the
wheels follow the centre of the ramp
- Take extra care in wet conditions to ensure the wheels do not slide on the ramp
2.
Unloading the wheelchair
- Position the ramp directly behind the rear wheel of the wheelchair. Allow the
wheelchair to roll backwards down the ramp, ensuring the wheels follow the
centre of the ramp
- Always have a qualified assistant present when using the ramp.
1.
It is the user’s responsibility to check the loading ramp and components before
each and every use. If the ramp is damaged, it should NOT be used.
2.
Maintain the ramp by regular cleaning. Periodically lubricate the hinges.
