2. Unwind the mains cable to its full length and insert the mains plug into a properly
installed plug socket that is easily accessible.
3. Press the On/Off switch (

) to switch on the vacuum clean-
er.
4. Guide the nozzle over the surface to be cleaned.
5. To switch off the vacuum cleaner, press the On/Off switch
again.
6. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket after use.
7. To ensure optimum performance of the device, you should empty the dust container
and clean the
fi
lters (see the next "Cleaning and Storing the Device" chapter) after
every use.
Cleaning and Storing the Device
CAUTION!
■
Always remove the mains plug from the plug socket before doing any cleaning of the
device.
■
Keep the motor unit, the mains cable and the mains plug away from water or other
liquids in order to avoid electric shocks. Make sure that no liquid gets into the motor
unit during cleaning.
■
Only the
fi
lters may be cleaned with water. However, they must be completely dry
before they are assembled and attached to the motor unit.
■
The
fi
lters are
not
machine-washable, dishwasher-safe or suitable for tumble drying!
Only ever dry the
fi
lters in the air, and never use a hair dryer to do so.
■
Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the de-
vice. These could damage the surfaces.
The
fi
lters may lose some of their colour over time. This is normal and does not
have any adverse effect on function.
Emptying the Dust Container
The dust container (

) should be emptied at regular intervals to maintain good suction
force.
1. Detach the dust container from the motor unit (see the "Attaching and Detaching Ac-
cessories" chapter, "Removing and Inserting the Dust Container" section).
2. Hold the dust container over an open dustbin.
3. Slide the catch (

) for the bottom
fl
ap of the dust contain-
er (

) downwards. The bottom of the dust container will
open and the dirt will fall out.
4. Then
fl
ip the bottom
fl
ap of the dust container shut again.
The fastener must be heard to engage in place.
5. Reattach the dust container to the motor unit.
