Before Initial Use
CAUTION!

Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
1. Unpack all parts and check the items supplied to make sure they are complete (see
“Items Supplied”, page 20); also check for transport damage. If you
fi
nd any dam-
age to the components, do not use them (!), but contact the customer service depart-
ment.
2. Before using the device, remove all packaging materials and any labels and transport
restraints that may be on the device and are used for protection during transportation
or for advertising.
3. Charge up the battery (see “Charging Up the Battery”, page 22).
4. Assemble the device (see “Assembling the Device”, page 23).
Charging Up the Battery
CAUTION!

Only ever charge up the rechargeable battery using the charging station and the
mains adapter supplied with the device. Do not use them to charge up other batteries.
1. If the dust container is attached to the motor unit, press
the release button on the dust container handle and
remove the dust container.
2. Clasp the edge of the battery cover plate and pull the
battery out of the motor unit.
3. Slide the battery cover plate away from the battery.
4. First connect the mains adapter to the charging station
and then to a properly installed and easily accessible
plug socket. The green operating lamp lights up.
5. Insert the battery connector into the socket of the charg-
ing station. Note the polarity (+/-); the battery must be on
the charging station. If the battery is connected correctly,
the red charging control lamp lights up.
6. When the battery is charged up, the red lamp goes out
and only the green lamp is lit up.
