FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel is transferred from the tank by an electromagnetic pump, into the nozzle
and atomised. A high voltage ignition transformer sends current to the tips of
the ignition needles which provide the spark to fire the atomised fuel.
AIR SYSTEM
The fan on the back of the unit helps provide the oxygen for combustion as
well as blowing the heated air from the unit. The fans in the centre of the unit
cool the surface temperature of the heater.
SAFETY SYSTEMS
The unit is fitted with a temperature limit sensor, which is designed to turn the
heater off if the temperature should rise to an unsafe level. If the sensor is
tripped and the heater is turned off it may require a service. Once the
temperature falls back below the reset temperature, the heater should re-
start.
The heater is fitted with an electrical circuit breaker to protect the internal
components from damage. If the heater should fail to work, this fuse may
require checking.
The heater uses a photocell to detect the flame in the combustion chamber.
Should the flame extinguish, the sensor will cut off the electrical current and
the heater will shut off.
The heater is fitted with a tilt switch designed to turn the unit off immediately if
it should tip over beyond a pre-determined angle.
