FAULTFINDING
Problem

Pump fails to
operate.
Check for good contact
between crocodile clips
and battery.
Check the switch is on and
that the fuse is not blown.
Pump rotor jammed.
Motor fault.
Establish good contact.
Replace fuse or switch
on.
Check for possible
damage or obstruction
of the rotating parts.
Return to Clarke Service
Department for repair.
Motor turns slowly
when starting.
Low supply voltage.
Check condition of
battery.
Lack of flow delivery. Low level in the storage
tank.
Foot filter blocked.
Pump is positioned too high
above the storage tank.
By-pass valve blocked.
Air entering the pump via
the suction hose.
Narrowing of the suction
hose.
Low pump speed.
Suction tubing is resting on
the bottom of the tank.
Refill the tank.
Clean out the filter.
Position the pump lower
in relation to the tank.
Return to Clarke Service
Department for repair.
Check the security of
hose connections.
Hose is damaged,
blocked.
Check the power supply.
Raise the tubing.
Leakage from the
pump body.
Seal damaged.
Return to Clarke Service
Department for repair.
