                          EXPANDING THE SWITCHBACK  

 
1.  Release all of the Velcro attachments on the outside of 
the shelter including the Velcro on skirt corner 

(Photo 11). 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
2.  Go inside the shelter and unfasten the barrel 
connectors from the loops that hold the expandable 
fabric in place

3.  Push the expandable section outward and secure the 
top corners with the corner braces

4.  Walk outside and pull the expandable section 
outward as far as it will go.  Connect the Velcro strips on 
the skirt to complete it

5. Secure the expandable section to the ice using ice 
anchors and the internal ice anchor straps
