Replacement of the shank tips

When the shank tips are showing a great wear
and struggling to penetrate the soil, replace them.
To do so, loosen up the bolts (A), flat washers
and nut as shown in the figure.
Switch off the tractor completely, brake and use the chocks in the tires. Immobilize the
equipment firmly before making any maintenance.
Do not make any repairs in the hydraulic system while it is pressurized or the cylinders
are under load. A serious accident could result of this unsafe act.
During offseason wash the plow, repair the damaged painting, lubricate all grease
fittings and store the plow in a covered and dry location, avoiding contact with the soil.
The shanks and discs must be replaced as soon as a low income is noticed, characterized
mainly by a cut loss and other forms of damage that may occur during the job.
After some hours of operation, the bolts on the plow must be checked to see if they
are properly tightened. To assure a great performance and avoid wear and rupture, these
bolts must be tightened every so often.
Check wear occurence on all moving parts. Replace any part, if necessary.
Replace the missing or damaged safety decals. Civemasa supplies these decals, upon
request and indication of their respective serial numbers. The operator must know the need
and importance to keep the decals in the proper place and in good conditions. The operator
also have to know the need to follow the instructions, as the lack of safety may increase
the risk of accidents.
