Chapter Unicast Routing Commands

ip ospf message-digest-key

To enable Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Message Digest 5 (MD5) authentication, use the

ip ospf

message-digest-key

command. To remove an old MD5 key, use the

form of this command.

ip ospf message-digest-key

Identifier in the range from 1 to 255.

md5

Specifies the Message Digest 5 (MD5) authentication.

(Optional) Specifies an unencrypted password to generate the md5
key.

(Optional) Specifies an encrypted 3DES password to generate the
md5 key.

(Optional) Specifies a Cisco type 7 encrypted password to generate
the md5 key.

key

Alphanumeric password of up to 16 bytes.
