Insert a new battery into the battery compartment. Do not force the battery into
the compartment, but be sure to press the battery all the way in until it seats
fully.

Close the battery compartment door. The battery lock will automatically re-
engage.
Important:
It can take as long as 24 hours for the battery to charge fully.
Note:
Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations and
instructions from your service provider.
Using the Wireless Residential Voice Gateway Without a Battery
If you want, you can use the residential gateway without a battery. If you need to
remove the battery, follow the procedures found in
Removing and Replacing the
Battery
(on page 43).
Important:
If you choose to operate your residential gateway without a battery, you
risk losing your telephone service during a power outage.
