Save the Running Configuration to NVRAM
To store the configuration or changes to your startup configuration in NVRAM, use the copy running-config startup-config
command to save your configuration changes to the startup configuration so that the changes will not be lost if the software
reloads or a power outage occurs. For example:
Router# copy running-config startup-config
Building configuration...
It might take a minute or two to save the configuration. After the configuration has been saved, the following output appears:
[OK]
Router#
This task saves the configuration to NVRAM.
To review changes you make to the configuration, use the EXEC mode
show startup-config
command to see the changes and
copy run-start
command stored in NVRAM.
Note
Using the
copy run-start
command saves the configuration settings that you created in the router using configuration
mode and the setup facility. If you fail to do this, your configuration will be lost the next time you reload the router.
