INSTRUCTIONS
Lamp replacement must be performed by Christie trained personnel
only. EXPLOSION HAZARD! Wear authorized Christie protective clothing (P/N: 58-
8900-095) whenever the lamp door is open and when handling the lamp. Never apply a
twisting or bending forces to the quartz lamp body. Use the correct wattage lamp
supplied by Christie. Ensure those within the facility of the projector are also wearing
protective safety clothing. Never attempt to remove the lamp when it is hot. The lamp
is under a great deal of pressure when hot and may explode, causing personal injury or
death, and/or property damage. Allow the lamp to cool completely before handling.

1. Ensure power to the projector is OFF.
2.
Remove the lamp:
a.
Press Lamp OFF from the
CDP to turn the lamp
OFF. Allow the cooling
fans to run for at least 15
minutes to allow the lamp
to sufficiently cool before
handling.
b. When the cooling fans
stop turn the projector’s
main switch to OFF and
unplug. Always power
down and unplug the pro-
jector prior to servicing.
Allow the lamp to cool
before handling.
c. Wearing protective cloth-
ing and a face shield
unlock the rear access
door.
NOTE:
The safety
interlock switch on the
rear access door turns
lamp power OFF and
prevents it from being
turned ON when the door is open. The interlock wiring connects directly to the ballast.
WARNING!
DO NOT place heavy objects on the open rear access door.
d. Manually turn the two thumbscrews on the internal lamp door counter-clockwise to access the
lamp compartment.
e. Using a #3 Phillips
™
, loosen the nut securing the anode wire (Figure 1/D).
f.
Remove the two captive screws securing the lamp anode cover (Figure 1/C) and remove the
cover.
g. Using a #3 Phillips
™
, unscrew the ballast wire nut (Figure 1/I).
h. Loosen the cathode screw (Figure 1/E) using the hex key, mounted to the inside of the rear
access door.
