If you want to retain the internal clock setting you will need to change the battery in less than ten (10)
seconds, or have power supplied while the battery is being changed. Changing the battery with power
supplied should only be performed by a trained technician. The internal clock can be reset if needed via the
Chiptech Wizard.
The SEVEN battery pack has an expected life of up to five years, and a backup battery capacity of 70 hours
from a fully charged new battery. This will diminish as the battery ages. SEVEN will do battery maintenance
every 90 days, and will fully charge the battery within 24 hours.
17.1.2
Battery Disposal

Do not dispose of the SEVEN battery packs in the rubbish bin, or directly into the environment.

Please contact your local council for their recommended directions for battery disposal, and disposal
drop off points for the SEVEN battery pack.

Batteries contain numerous components that are bad for the environment and need to be disposed of
responsibly.
•
Batteries deteriorate if not in use, and can become hazardous. Collecting batteries before they
deteriorate means they can be recycled appropriately, saving valuable components for reuse and
reducing the risk to people and the environment.

Battery Information for RF transceivers

Pearl
personal help button batteries have an expected life of up to six years, and cannot be replaced. A
Pearl with a low battery is not able to be learned into a base unit.

Pearl Advanced Fall Detector
has a two year battery life with typical use. Typical use is defined as one
activation per month and an RF test transmission every seven hours. Low battery reporting to
monitoring when it reaches 20% capacity. Batteries are replaceable through Chiptech servicing.
•
GO
battery life expectancy: approximately 80% capacity can be expected after 350 -500 charges (when
charged in temperature of 25°C and fully discharged between cycles) and when the battery is less than
3-5 years old.

17.2.1
Direct Connection
This is when you can connect your base unit directly to your PC via a serial modification cable (SERMOD),
when in the same location. Connect the cable to the USB port on the PC, and then to the Option port on the
Chiptech base unit. For more information, please refer to the Chiptech Wizard Installation and User Manual.

use 4.8V 2000mAh NiMH.
