Operation Instructions

Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this document
including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY AND DEATH FROM FIRE:
Have multiple ABC class fire extinguishers nearby.
Be familiar with fire extinguishing techniques before use of this item.

WARNING!

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:

Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles with side
shields and flame retardant gloves during use.

WARNING!

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:

Do not use thread seal tape, it will weaken the
seal at the connections and can cause leaks.

1.  To close gas valve, turn Gas Control

Knob upward until it stops.

2.  Thread propane cylinder firmly into the

Connector, do not overtighten.

3.  Turn the Gas Control Knob off and check and

smell for gas leaks.  Perform a bubble test:

a.  Apply warm soapy water over every

joint, regulator, fitting, and anywhere
else there may be a possible leak.

b.  Observe carefully to see if bubbles expand,

indicating a leak.  A large leak can blow the
soapy solution away instead of forming bubbles.

c.  If leaks are found, do not use the Torch

until the leaks have been stopped.

d.  After testing, close the gas valve

on the propane cylinder.

4.  When using a

SHORT

 propane cylinder, do

not tilt forward farther than 25°. See below:

5.  When using a

TALL

 propane cylinder, do not

tilt forward farther than 45°. See below:

6.  Point the Torch in a safe direction, well away

from people and combustible materials.

7.  Turn Gas Control Knob downward

until ignition markings line up.

9.  Adjust the flame to the desired setting while

maintaining a blue flame with an orange halo.

Note:

If the flame goes out: immediately shut off the

controls, wait a few seconds and reignite.  If the flame
continues to go out, switch to another propane bottle.

10.  When finished:

a.  Disconnect propane cylinder from Connector.

b.  Let Torch cool for 30 minutes on

a non-flammable surface.

11.  Store propane cylinder in an area where there is free

air circulation, at least 10 ft from building openings
(such as windows and doors), and at least 20 ft
from air intakes of air conditioning and ventilating
systems.  Tightly install threaded valve plug (not
included) into disconnected propane cylinder.

12.  Store the Torch and accessories in a clean,

dry location out of reach of children.
