Local overheating can also occur due to electrode
constrictions. This can be prevented by increasing the
distance (e.g. with pillows, felt layers) of the affected body
part.

Surface warming can be reduced by increasing the
electrode distance. The use of the diode is recommended
for local applications. It is also possible to achieve this,
however, by using different electrode sizes and varying the
positions.
