2. Status Indicator RAPs

 

RAP 2.51 Knife Position Sensor 

Input 30 

This sensor detects when the knife bar assem-
bly is shifting from one side to another, and pre-
vents a cut from being made unless the knife bar 
assembly has travelled completely into the 
proper position.  The sensor is mounted to a 
bracket on the knife bar assembly, Figure 2-79.  
The sensor cable is labelled “KP”

Perform RAP 2.29 Knife Shift Cylinders to vali-
date operation of pneumatics. 

Check and repair loose wire 53 at the power

Procedure 

1.  Switch on the machine and press the green 

start button.  Is the knife assembly up and is 
the knife bar assembly shifted all the way 
left or right?
