Loading the autoclave
•
Fill in 1.5 liters of distilled water.
•
It is possible to insert more water, yet this will increase heating up and cooling down time.
•
In order to avoid calcification of your appliance, we recommend that you use distilled water and
decalcify the appliance regularly.
•
Put in instrument tray and place loading. It is important that steam can circulate freely, so you must
have a distance between the loading and the chamber wall.
Attention: Do not autoclave tightly sealed containers (especially glass bottles) since there is no pressure
compensation.
Close and Locking
•
Check if the gasket is inserted in the lid.
•
Check if the orange turning knob is on position “OPEN”.
•
We recommend mounting a hose to the steam release cock to avoid danger of hot steam. (Art.
8582016)
•
Place the lid on the chamber and turn it clockwise until the handles are in line with each other.
•
Turn the orange knob to position “Locked”
•
Plug in the power cable. Plug in the heater cable into the pot and controller. Plug in the temperature
sensor cable and screw it into the controller.
ATTENTION: on Longtime cycles avoid cooking dry and overheating (could damage the autoclave).
Check the water level. The steam release cock has to be closed– remove the seal for this.
Starting a program
Select a sterilization program in the control unit and push start.
For detailed description about using the controller please read chapter “Controller MC2”.
Venting
If venting is activated, then the sterilization chamber is vented at 115°C for 10 minutes. Venting is
necessary for even temperature distribution in the chamber and optimal temperature transmission.
Sterilization / Autoclaving
For long time cycles close the cock. Remove the seal to enable this. This does NOT lead to a loss of
warranty. The seal is only for process quality control in sterilization processes where the cock must not be
closed.
End of cycle – Cooling down
As the last step the controller cools down the autoclave to 80°C or 70°C for liquid program. Thereafter an
acoustic signal sounds and the controller displays “program finished”. The autoclave can now be opened.
