16 Trouble Shooting
Before calling the Help Desk please try the following to help solve any problems: -
Symptom Checks
Remedy
The unit does not
work ( No power)
Check that the mains plug is
inserted correctly.
Re inserts the mains plug. Switch on the
wall socket
Power ON does not
work. Led lit
TV in standby
Use the remote control to switch set out of
standby Try CH+ or CH- on Tv
Is the screen blue? YES
Connect a suitable aerial to the socket at
the rear.
Tv screen not
illuminated.(no
picture)
Set may be in AV mode
Select TV from AV
Are you out of range?
Move nearer the set
Battery power may be low.
If the remote is used frequently, change the
batteries every 6 months.
Remote control does
not function
Room brightly illuminated.
In some cases bright lighting may affect
remote control functions.
For best results an external aerial is
recommended.
PictureNoisy (Snowy)
Incorrect aerial or broken aerial
Have aerial checked by an engineer.
PictureOk. No sound.
Volume turned down.
Mute set.
Turn up the volume.Unset the “Mute”
PictureOK. No Sound
Tv sound may be set incorrectly
Enter SYSTEM Menu and select “Sound
system” Set to 6.0M for UK
Disc incorrectly loaded
Reload disc with label side up.
DVD will not play
Disc incorrect region
Check region code. This player only plays
region 2 discs.
DVD appears to play
but no picture.
Disc may be dirty or damaged
Clean the disc carefully.
Replace the disc with a good known one
DVD Plays in Black
and White.
TV / DVD set to incorrect
receiving standard
Set Player to “Auto” or PAL if it is a PAL
disc
Audio or Subtitle
does not work.
The disc may not support this feature.
Angle button does not
work
The disc may not support this feature.
MP3 and CD-R file
names appear in
strange letters
MP3 file names are only recognized with the alphabet letters and (0 – 9).
Only 10 characters can be displayed.
