11- Extraordinary Maintenance Form 

 

The purpose of this form is to: 

1.

 

Verify the general condition of the charger. 

2.

 

Prevent / rectify faults. 

 

Following these instructions will lead to verify the points that have the higher probability of fault. 

This document will help confirm that periodical inspection has been conducted. 

This document also shows that Extraordinary Maintenance is carried out every six or twelve months depending upon the 

usage of the charger.

Ordinary Maintenance 

Repeat the operations required from Routine maintenance. 

Fill in the form “Routine Maintenance”.

Clean up inside of the Charger. 

[First disconnect the Charger by 

switching off and unplugging the 

AC Mains.] 

Open the charger and clean up from the dust every component.

Electronic Card 

Clean with an air blow (blower nozzler at least 200mm away) or with a 

dry little brush. Do not use wet cloth or similar.

Cables and terminal examination 

In general you must ensure all cables are well tightened in their 

terminals. 

If you notice signs of ageing such as changing of original color, or a 

damaged terminal, do change them at once. 

 

 

 

04 

Overheating or aging of the 

components 

1.

 

Power Transformer - 

Check the power cables. terminals and especially the termination 

of the secondary cables that are connected to Diodes Bridge.  

They must not display signs of overheating. 

2.

 

Auxiliary Transformer - 

Check in particular the Fuse holder terminal. It must do a good 

contact and must be a 315mA-35VA and 1A-100VA. 

3.

 

Contactor - 

Verify the contactor contacts are not stuck. Try to open and close 

manually several times by pushing with screw driver. 

4.

 

Electronic card - 

Check the dip-switches or the Jumper, if present, are in the right 

position. The terminal block of the card must be efficient and not 

show signs to scorching / arcing / melting.
