Troubleshooting Guide
Before you call for help, please read the following:
Fault codes:
Models A, B and BW:
These codes may display on the digital touch screens; both on individual touch screens or individual touch screens
at the same time.
5C, 5CW, 10C and 10CW models (those models without touch screens) may indicate a fault by a sequence of
dispense light flashes (described below).
Fault codes are reset by cycling the main machine power switch to the off position, waiting 3 seconds, and then
switching the power back on. This power cycling resets the board fault memory, prompts the system for a system
check for additional faults that may have occurred after the initial fault.
There are two levels of Faults:
1.
Machine Level Faults:
These faults will stop the machine from operating and the same fault code will be
visible on all dispense touch screens.
2.
Dispense Head Level Faults*:
These faults will only affect individual heads from operating and the Fault
will only be visible on the fault affected dispense head.
* Dispense Head Status information is not a Fault: Heads will stop operating if there is "No Powder" in the Powder
Bins and the message will be displayed on the dispense touch screen for the affected dispense head. Refill the
powder bin to continue to operate the dispense head.
Models C and CW Fault Light Sequence:
If all dispense button lights are flashing, this means the unit is in a “Machine Level” fault code. The unit must be
powered off and back on again for the fault to clear. See the following table for definition of Fault codes and
corrective action. The push buttons will communicate the Fault code in the following sequence:
1. All Push Buttons will flash two times at the same time
2. The buttons will not flash for three seconds
3. If a two digit code, then all buttons will flash at the same time to designate the first of the two digit Fault
code (I.E. one flash for the tens digit means 1X is the first digit for the fault code.)
4. The buttons will not flash for a three second period
5. All of the buttons will flash to indicate the second digit of the Fault code
6. The buttons will not flash for three seconds and then start the communication sequence over again.
Note:
Push Buttons flash in groups of 5. Example: on a Radiance 5 unit, all buttons will flash at the same time to
communicate a fault code. Radiance 10 units can have a fault code on only the left or right groups of 5 dispense
heads; it is possible to have both groups on a Radiance 10 unit flashing different fault codes or one side operating
normally while the other side is flashing a fault code to the operator.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, unplug the dispenser power cord before repairing or
replacing any internal components of the unit. Before any attempt to replace a component, be sure to check all
electrical connections for proper contact. Only a qualified service technician should perform electrical and
mechanical adjustments or repairs.
