Charging the Battery

WARNING

Possible explosion hazard:
Only use original batteries from the manufacturer (Nickel / Metal Hydride [NiMH] batteries). Other
batteries may explode when charged with this device.
Check the charger periodically during a charging cycle.
Only charge the batteries in a fire-safe location to protect the area in case the cells fail during the
charge cycle.
Charge only when the ambient temperature is below 40°C.

•

The charger is set into operation by connecting the battery to the charger; i.e., inserting the battery into the
charger cradle.

•

The LED lights yellow before the quick-charge process starts, and then it changes to red while charging.

•

When the battery is almost fully charged, the charger changes from quick-charge mode to a mode with a
reduced charging voltage before switching to trickle-charging mode.

•

After the quick-charging mode process completes, the LED flashes green with intermittent red pulses.

•

When the battery is fully charged and the charger switches to trickle-charging mode, the LED lights green.

•

The battery is now fully charged and can be used. Take the battery out of cradle after charging.

Notes:

The battery charging time can take up to 4 hours.

Batteries may only be charged at a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C.

Charging and LED Indication

After connecting to the main power supply, the LED flashes red during the first seconds and changes to yellow
when the initialization and the analysis begin.

When a battery is connected, the actual charging begins after a few seconds, when the LED turns red.
