4. INSTALATION
4.1 CONNECTION TO THE MAIN SUPPLY
This unit must be connected to a three-phase 230V or 400V - 50 Hz/60 Hz + ground.
Main supply must be protected by fuses or circuit breaker according to the value I1eff written on the specifications of
the power source.
It is strongly suggested to use a differential protection for the operator’s safety.
4.2 CONNECTION TO EARTH
Norms).
For the operator's protection, the power source must be correctly grounded (according to the International Protections
It is absolutely necessary to set a good earth connection with the green/yellow wire of the power cable. This will avoid
discharges caused by accidental contacts with grounded pieces. If no earth connection has been set, a high risk of electric
shock through the chassis of the unit remains possible.
4.3 MMA WELDING
- Make the necessary connections to mains and earth as described in “Installation”. Connect the earth and electrode
holder to welding plugs + (positive) and – (negative) according to electrode polarity and with electrodes manufacturer
instructions.
- Switch on the welding set.
At the beginning, the orange led indicator lights on and immediately turns off if there is no default.
The red indicator lights on, indicating that the welding set is under voltage.
1 – Select MMA in MMA\TIG 2T \TIG 4T selector (
indicator lights on).
2 – Select the desired position in Local/Remote
selection button
: Adjust current in the current adjustment potentiometer
or in the remote control or foot pedal to the desired current value.
Note: When using remote control or pedal, current variation is effectuated between the minimum value of the machine
and the value set on the machine.
Adjust welding current according to the following table:
Electrode diameter (mm)
2,0
2,5
3,2
4,0
5,0
6,0
8,0
Welding current (Amp)
50 - 70
60 - 100
80 - 150
130 - 200
150 - 260
200 - 360
360 - 600
3 – Adjust ARC FORCE (initial pick current to facilitate arc ignition).
4 – If necessary, during welding operation, adjust the current value.
4.4 TIG WELDING
- Make the necessary connections to mains and earth as described in “Installation”. Connect the earth cable to welding
plug + (positive) and torch TIG to welding plug – (negative) .
- Switch on the welding set.
At the beginning, the orange led indicator lights on and immediately turns off if there is no default.
The red indicator lights on, indicating that the welding set is under voltage.
1 – Select TIG in MMA / ARC-AIR (Mod. 600 and 850) / TIG selector (
indicator lights on).
2 – Adjust Local/Remote selector (TIG): Adjust current in the current adjustment potentiometer or in the remote
control or foot pedal to the desired current value.
