b.5 Flue
If you build a chimney we recommend the choice of brick or insulated stainless steel, in order to be
sure to compliance with all the necessary conditions for the proper operation of the stove.
IMPORTANT: The design and installation of a flue must be done by qualified technician in
compliance with the existing rules.
If, however, you are forced to use an existing brick flue, have it inspected by a technician to make sure
it meets the requirements below:
- It must be perfectly watertight and airtight and suitably isolated
- It must be made from materials resistant to normal mechanical stress, heat, the action of products of
combustion and their condensates.
- It must not have obstructions along its entire length
-It must be properly insulated in order to avoid the formation of condensate and the cooling of the
fumes
-It must be placed at a proper distance from flammable materials
- Its internal section should preferably be circular. The square or rectangular sections must have
rounded corners with a radius not less than 20 mm.
-It must have a constant internal section.
-The base of the chimney must be provided with a collection chamber to facilitate maintenance and
cleaning
