Problem Probable Cause Procedure
5. Unit runs continuously, but with
low performance.
Excessive thermal load. • Check project conditions.
Refrigerant lack. • Check and fi x leaks. Add
refrigerant if required.
Dirt in the condensers. • Check and clean.
Defective compressor. • Check compressor pressures and
currents. Replace if required.
Insuffi cient refrigerant supply in the evaporator. • Check if there are obstructions
in the dryer fi lter, or in the
lines. Replace or correct.
• Check expansion valve
obstruction.Replace if necessary.
• Check the position of the
expansion valve bulb or equalizer
tube. Correct according to
manufacturer specifi cations.
Faulty thermal insulation. • Fix or replace.
Air in the system cold water. • To take air of the system.
Oil in evaporator. • Check and drain.
Compressor runs in reverse rotation. • Check suction and discharge
pressures. In case reversion is
detected, invert the terminal power
cables. Check fan rotation.
6. High discharge pressure Low air fl ow in condenser. • Check fan rotation.Fix if necessary.
• Check motor operation.
Replace if necessary.
• Check dirt in the coil. Clean
and provide proper fi ltering.
Dirty condenser. • Check and clean.
High condensation entering air temperatures. • Check condensation air
short circuit or insuffi cient
air intake. To Correct.
• Check components of the chilled
water installation. To Correct.
Excess of refrigerant. • Check and remove excess, setting
subcooling between 8 and 11 °C.
7. Reduced discharge pressure. Excessive air fl ow in the condenser. • Check and adjust.
Refrigerant lack. • Check and fi x leaks. Add
refrigerant if required.

pressures. Replace if necessary.
