Other information
Function available only when one of the following conditions is true:
4-pipe system;
or: 2-pipe system with µC2SE connected and with heat pump or boiler;
or: 2-pipe system without µC
2
SE.
5.4 AUTO: Changeover/Energy Saving activation
Information
Function available, if enabled during installation, only for some types of systems (see below).
Procedure
Make sure the operation of the system is activated (see the section “System ON / STANDBY”).
Press MODE repeatedly until displaying symbol 3, AUTO.
To set the ambient temperature set point, see the following section “Setting the ambient temperature set
point – Remote control of the e-drofan”.
How it works
2-pipe system with µC
2
SE connected and with heat pump or boiler:
The function automatically manages the changeover (automatic HEATING / COOLING switching) as
follows:
Ch01=2: the changeover is based on the set point and the temperature measured by the µAM. µAM sets
HEATING or COOLING mode at the same time on the µC2SE and all the e-drofan units; the mode is
then maintained by setting it every minute.
Ch01=1 or Ch01=3: the changeover is based on the set point and the temperature measured by the
e-drofan units.
µAM sets all the master e-drofan units to automatic mode and µC2SE to HEATING or COOLING mode;
the modes are maintained by setting them every minute.
Note:
in these two cases, the µAM manages the first changeover, after which at least 2 minutes must
elapse from power-up or from the activation of AUTO mode to allow the fan coils to stabilise and
provide reliable information.
4-pipe system with µC
2
SE connected
:
The function ensures energy saving, as follows:
Ch01=1: deactivation of the unit that produces cold water (chiller) when all the master e-drofan units
(ON and without alarms) require heated water; deactivation of the unit that produces hot water when all
the master e-drofan units (ON and without alarms) require cold water.
Re-activation simply requires a call that is opposite to the current mode. The activations are maintained
by setting them every minute.
µAM sets all the e-drofan units to automatic mode; the mode is maintained by setting it every minute.
4-pipe system without µC
2
SE
Ch01=0: µAM sets all the e-drofan units to automatic mode; the mode is maintained by setting it every
minute.
5.5 Setting the ambient temperature set point - Remote control of
the e-drofan
Information
The e-drofan controller manages the ambient comfort based on its own ambient temperature probe and
its set point.
A slave e-drofan controller continuously receives the ON/OFF status and the set point from its master
e-drofan.
The ON/OFF status and the set point can be set on a master e-drofan using the acqua or e-droset
terminal.
If the µAM is in STANDBY, every minute it sets OFF status on all the e-drofan units; if the µAM is ON, the
ON status is not set on any of the e-drofan units.
If, during normal display mode, the display shows symbol 8 “set”, in field 6 the µAM displays its own
temperature set point, otherwise it displays the temperature measured by its own built-in probe (see
installation - changeover or compensation).
5.5.1 Setting e-drofan ON/OFF and ambient temperature from the µAM
The µAM can be used to set the ON/OFF status and the set point on a specific e-drofan, or alternatively,
with a one single operation, the set point on all the e-drofan units to the same value.
Procedure
Setting the ON/OFF status and the set point on an individual e-drofan from the µAM
Note:
if during normal display mode, the display shows symbol 8 “set”, the following procedure can
be used to display the set point but not change the value. To modify the set point in this case, see the
following paragraph: “Using the µAM temperature set point“.
